It is almost always a problem of fit or ear tip size, not of the earphone. With a good seal, the same earphone sounds completely different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"kz-box kz-box--resumen\"><p class=\"kz-box__title\">In short<\/p><ul><li>The cable goes <strong>over and behind the ear<\/strong>, not hanging straight down.<\/li><li>The ear tip must <strong>seal the canal<\/strong>: if air gets in, the bass disappears.<\/li><li>Try <strong>every size<\/strong> in the box; each ear may need a different one.<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to put them in<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1. Identify each side.<\/strong> They are marked L (left) and R (right).<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>2. Run the cable over your ear.<\/strong> The curved section of the cable hugs the back of the ear.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>3. Insert the earphone with a slight twist.<\/strong> Place it at the entrance of the canal and rotate it backward until the body rests in the hollow of your ear.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>4. Help it along by pulling your ear.<\/strong> Gently pulling the outer ear up and back opens the canal and makes sealing easier.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to tell if they seal well<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Outside noise drops clearly when you put them in.<\/li>\n\n<li>The bass sounds full; if it sounds thin or tinny, air is getting in.<\/li>\n\n<li>They do not move when you move your jaw or walk.<\/li>\n\n<li>Both sides sound equally loud.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Choosing the ear tip size<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">KZ earphones include several sizes of silicone ear tips. Start with the medium. If the earphone slips out or the bass is missing, try a larger one; if it is uncomfortable or will not go in, a smaller one. It is normal to use a different size in each ear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Silicone or foam<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"kz-table-wrap\"><table class=\"kz-table\"><thead><tr><th><\/th><th>Silicone<\/th><th>Foam<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><th>Seal<\/th><td>Good if the size is right<\/td><td>Very good: it expands and adapts<\/td><\/tr><tr><th>Sound<\/th><td>More open in the treble<\/td><td>A little warmer<\/td><\/tr><tr><th>Lifespan<\/th><td>Long, washable<\/td><td>Shorter, replaced with use<\/td><\/tr><tr><th>Fitting<\/th><td>Straight in<\/td><td>Needs compressing before you insert it<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some models, such as the <a href=\"\/en\/product\/kz-zenith\/\">KZ Zenith<\/a>, include foam tips as well as silicone ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Common mistakes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wearing the cable hanging down, like regular earbuds.<\/li>\n\n<li>Not inserting them far enough for fear of hurting yourself: they should seal, without forcing.<\/li>\n\n<li>Sticking with the ear tip that comes fitted without trying the rest.<\/li>\n\n<li>Mixing up left and right: the shape is designed for each ear.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Care and cleaning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clean the ear tips with a damp cloth and let them dry before use. If the earphone mesh gets clogged with wax, the volume drops on that side: clean it carefully and dry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Frequently asked questions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"kz-faq\"><details><summary>Is it normal for them to feel uncomfortable at first?<\/summary><p>You may notice them for the first few days. If they hurt, the ear tip is too big.<\/p><\/details><details><summary>Why does one side sound quieter?<\/summary><p>Almost always because of a poorer seal in that ear or a dirty mesh.<\/p><\/details><details><summary>Do they block out noise?<\/summary><p>Yes, passively: the seal itself reduces outside noise.
