Sound
Second-generation «Dome Core» driver
According to KZ, the PHANTOM is an evolution of the KZ Zenith: it uses the second generation of the «Dome Core» dynamic driver, with a stiffer composite diaphragm that reduces unwanted vibrations in the treble.
The tuning was developed with professional FPS players to separate footsteps, gunshots and ambience without inflating the bass. It has 41 Ω impedance, 128 ± 2 dB sensitivity and a response of 20 Hz to 40 kHz.
Versions
Four tuning switches
- Switch 1: raises the bass one step.
- Switches 1 and 2: raise the bass two steps.
- Switches 1, 2 and 3: raise the bass by three levels.
- All four: lower the treble by one level.
Versions
USB-C version with sound card
The USB-C version has a DSP sound card with physical switches and four modes: standard, standard gaming, immersive gaming and Hi-Fi. The 3.5 mm versions do not include it.
Connection
Dual microphone and detachable cable
The microphone versions use an adjustable dual microphone for voice chat. The cable is silver-plated, 120 cm long (±5 cm), and connects with a 0.78 mm 2-pin connector, so it can be replaced or swapped for a compatible KZ Bluetooth adapter that is compatible.
They are worn with the cable over the ear.

KZ presents it as its evolution: 2nd-generation «Dome Core» driver, tuning switches, a tuning designed for FPS games and versions with dual microphone and USB-C with sound card.
Does the sound card come with every version?
No, only with the USB-C version. The 3.5 mm versions do not have it.
What is the advantage of the USB-C version?
It plugs straight into the USB-C port of phones, tablets and computers, with no adapter. The 3.5 mm jack versions need an adapter on phones without a headphone jack.

They do not have active noise cancellation. By sealing the ear canal with the ear tips they block outside noise passively.
What warranty do they come with?
3-year warranty against manufacturing defects, handled from Spain.
