KZ PRX: in-ear monitors with planar driver

The KZ PRX are wired in-ear monitors with a planar magnetic driver per side, a metal alloy shell and a detachable silver-plated 2-pin cable. Available in black, with or without a microphone.

Driver

Sound: planar magnetic driver

Each earpiece houses KZ's fourth-generation planar driver, with an array of 14 N52 magnets. According to the manufacturer, it stands out for its treble extension.

They have an impedance of 15 Ω and a sensitivity of 94 dB (±3), lower than a typical dynamic in-ear, so they need more volume from the source.

Construction

Design and fit

The shell is die-cast alloy, with a protective metal mesh.

Three sizes of silicone ear tips (S, M and L) are included to get the right seal for each ear.

Connection

Detachable silver-plated cable and microphone version

The cable is silver-plated oxygen-free copper and measures 120 cm (±5 cm).

It attaches to each earpiece with a standard gold-plated 0.75 mm 2-pin connector, so it can be replaced if damaged or swapped for another cable. The same connector lets you go wireless with a KZ Bluetooth adapter that is compatible.

The microphone version adds an in-line remote to play or pause, skip tracks and take calls.

Do the KZ PRX have noise cancellation?

They have no active noise cancellation. They are in-ear earphones with silicone ear tips, which passively block outside noise by sealing the ear canal.
