The EDX range is the entry point to KZ: in-ear earphones with a single dynamic driver, a detachable cable and a low price. The problem is that there are five models with very similar names. This guide explains what changes between the KZ EDX, the KZ EDX Lite, the KZ EDX Pro, the KZ EDX Pro X and the KZ EDX Ultra. The EDX and EDX Lite are no longer sold in the shop; we keep them in the guide for reference.
In short
- All have one dynamic driver per side and a detachable 2-pin cable.
- EDX and EDX Lite are the cheapest; EDX Pro and EDX Ultra, the middle step; EDX Pro X, the top one.
- Watch the connector: the original EDX uses Pin B; the rest, Pin C.

What they have in common
All five are dynamic-driver earphones: a single diaphragm per side reproduces all the sound, with present bass and a warm character. All are worn with the cable over the ear, come in a version with a mic and, at around 23–26 Ω and over 108 dB, work with any phone.
The differences that matter
- Connector. The original EDX uses Pin B (flat); the others, Pin C (hooded). It matters if you want to add a Bluetooth adapter or change the cable.
- Cable. The EDX Ultra comes with a silver-plated cable; the EDX Lite, EDX Pro and EDX Pro X, with a flat cable.
- Driver. The EDX, EDX Pro and EDX Ultra list a 10 mm driver; the Pro and the Ultra use a dual-magnet design. The EDX Lite and EDX Pro X use the driver KZ calls super-linear.
- Reviews. The EDX Pro is the model with the most customer reviews in our store.
