KZ VIBE X: bass you can feel

The KZ VIBE X are wired in-ear earphones for those who want lots of bass without losing clarity. On each side they combine a new 13 mm vibration driver for the lowest frequencies and the same dynamic driver as the KZ Zenith. They come without microphone, with microphone and 3.5 mm jack, or with microphone and USB-C plug with DSP.

  • 13 mmvibration driver, plus a dynamic one
  • 20 Ωimpedance
  • 107 dBsensitivity
  • 3versions: no mic, 3.5 mm mic and USB-C

Sound

13 mm vibration driver

According to KZ, this driver developed by the brand is inspired by high-end car audio systems: it extends the bass down to about 5 Hz and transmits a vibration you can feel in drums, explosions or engines. The bass does not come from turning up the low frequencies, but from a dedicated driver.

Sound

Zenith dynamic driver for mids and treble

The second driver is the high-performance dynamic driver of the KZ Zenith. Thanks to the physical crossover between the two, the mids and treble stay clean and the soundstage is wider than in conventional bass-heavy in-ears.

Specifications: 20 Hz – 40 kHz, 20 Ω impedance and 107 dB sensitivity.

Use

For gaming, music and movies

In games, footsteps are easy to locate and explosions and gunshots come with vibration. In music, kick drums and bass hit hard in electronic, hip hop or rock, with clear vocals. In movies, low-frequency effects gain presence without masking dialogue.

Connection

Dual microphone and wireless mode

The microphone versions use a dual condenser microphone system with a 6 mm capsule for calls and voice chat. The USB-C version includes DSP.

The silver-plated cable is 120 cm long (±5 cm) and connects with a 0.78 mm 2-pin connector, so it can be swapped for a compatible KZ Bluetooth adapter that is compatible.

KZ VIBE X frequently asked questions

Does the bass drown out the vocals?

That is not the idea: the bass is played by a dedicated 13 mm driver and the mids and treble by the Zenith dynamic driver, with a crossover between them.

Which version should I choose?

Without microphone for listening to music; with 3.5 mm microphone for phones and controllers with a headphone jack; with USB-C microphone to plug them in with no adapter.

What is the advantage of the USB-C version?

It plugs straight into the USB-C port of phones, tablets and computers, with no adapter. The 3.5 mm jack versions need an adapter on phones without a headphone jack.

Do they have noise cancellation?

They do not have active noise cancellation. By sealing the ear canal with the ear tips they block outside noise passively.

What warranty do they come with?

3-year warranty against manufacturing defects, handled from Spain.
